First I want to say that
without the help of my husband Martin I never had the chance to start my breeding programm. Martin helps me whenever he can.
The affection to the cats began with a hosehold cat which had no owner. Somebody wanted to send him to sleep the next day. This guy with the big ears
and his silky coat took our heart by storm. We named him Ashly. He showed us that cats are not scared of water at all.
He loved it to play with the water in the bowl. He also had a good way with our Beagle Gracy. Gracy came rather often to us because she couldn't stop the games of Ashly.
Later we had a beautiful red Maine Coon boy named Etienne.
Somebody who has to do such a lot with cats also visits a cat show. On one of these shows I had seen a Bengalcat.
The pattern of the marble cat faszinated me. Now I wished to have a own Bengalcat and maybe a cattery too.
In November 2002 we talked with a breeder the first time and in May we got our first Bengalcat.
Unfortunately Ciccona got very ill and we had to put her into sleep at the end of September.
This seemed to be the beginning of the end of our cattery.
But we met a very kind breeder. Sylvia Swienty supported us mentally and we continued. From Sylvia, Outlaws Bengalen, we got our Bengals Cassiopeia and Juma.
With this cats I started my breeding program. In all the years I learned much about how to "create" the perfect wild looking Bengalcat and also a lot about the genetics.
I am still in the process of breeding better Bengals.
I want to say that our Bengals first are our beloved pets which are living with us in the apartement and on the sofa.
Our kittens are growing up in our bedroom at the first four weeks. Afterward they relocate into the living room in which we linger mostly. Here the kittens learn to interact with loud
sounds, the adult cats and the dogs. As I am at home our cats and kittens get much affections the whole day.
Breeding Bengals not only is a hobby it is a life-task for me.
Can you imagine how exciting it is to come closer to your goals and how much happiness it earns when people tell you how glad they are with the kitten they got from you?
These are some reasons why breeding Bengals is so fascinating.
Our cattery is registered at the BH Feldkirch and controlled from the public health officer.
